Il progetto per il museo di Aversa si fonda sul contrasto tra una struttura geometrica regolare, organizzata su una maglia rigorosa, e una copertura metallica leggera e temporanea che accoglie i visitatori all'ingresso. Questa tensione tra permanenza e provvisorietà definisce l’identità dell’edificio: da un lato, il corpo principale, solido e scandito, richiama la tradizione classica; dall’altro, il volume sospeso in acciaio, irregolare e mutevole, segnala l’accesso come evento dinamico. Al centro del progetto è il tema della soglia: un portale monumentale, quasi un diaframma architettonico, separa la facciata dall’atrio d’ingresso, creando un rito di passaggio tra esterno e interno. Il varco, oltre a essere fisico, è simbolico, un invito a varcare la linea tra città e cultura. I materiali, tra cemento a vista e metallo ossidato, accentuano il dialogo tra stabilità ed effimero, radicando il museo nel contesto urbano pur lasciandolo aperto a trasformazioni future.

The design for Aversa’s museum hinges on the contrast between a regular geometric structure, built on a strict grid, and a lightweight, temporary metal canopy that marks the entrance. This interplay of permanence and transience shapes the building’s identity: the main body, solid and ordered, echoes classical tradition, while the suspended steel volume—irregular and adaptable—frames the entrance as a dynamic event. At its core lies the theme of the threshold: a monumental portal, acting as an architectural diaphragm, separates the façade from the lobby, turning the approach into a ritual passage. The gateway is both physical and symbolic—an invitation to cross from city to culture. Materials like raw concrete and weathered steel heighten the tension between stability and ephemerality, anchoring the museum in its urban fabric while remaining open to future reinterpretations.
